Heyy, here is the outfit I wore to go to Leeds in, I wore the furry hat as it was so cold up there and I wanted to be warm straight away, plus I really love it! I chose to wear one of my new jumpers from Forever21 which my mum brought me from her trip to America, I paired it with a denim shirt which is actually my boyfriends and I have stolen and my American Apparel sparkly leggings that I have had for about two years and still I wear them all of the time, they have kept so well. I do love a pair of sparkly leggings!!

This is one of the outfits I wore to go out in Leeds. At the moment I am really enjoying wearing black, even if it is all black. The leggings add a little something to the outfit and of course my outfit would not be complete with out lipstick. As you can see I am wearing creepers, I have had my black and leopard pair for almost a year now and I used to wear them literally all of the time and I was not sure if creepers were over for me and a bit ‘done’ as I have been wearing them a long time and I did move on and buy some other cool boots but I still could not resist in buying an all black pair; for me they feel great as it adds an extra 2 inches to my height without actually having to go to the effort of wearing high heels, perfect for someone who is as small as I am!

So basically I have not done outfit posts in what feels like forever. This week I had off of Uni and so I took full advantage of this and went to visit my friend Jo in leeds which is one of my fav things to do. I always have so much fun and this time was no exception, if anything it was even better than any other time. We went out and partied, I had a successful shopping trip, lots of lovely food and had a fab time relaxing and doing nothing. Of course I took pictures of some of my outfits, a couple of which are before I went out at night. I normally bombard you with photos all at once but that can be a bit much so above is one of my outfits and I will add the others through out the week.

Too Adorable...

Okay so here she is...

She is the cutest thing ever!

I dog sat her for the whole day on Friday and she was so good, we played around for a little while and then eventually she would get tired and fall asleep, then we would play again and it went round like that all day, it was so much fun. As she is so tiny I was able to put her in a little carry case and take her around with me during the day so I took her to see my boyfriends family, which of course they loved her and I also took her to my other sister's. I just can't explain how cute she is!!

She was named Ivy which I really thought suited her- FYI she was named Ivy on thursday.... before Beyonce's little girl haha!!

I can't wait to look after her again!

Turban Time

Just a couple of random things today, on Tuesday I went to the IMAX cinema to see the new Mission Impossible film which was really good, the picture quality was incredible and so was the sound, you literally felt like you were in the film, it almost looked 3D. I wore one of my new turbans too and I was a little sceptical on how it would look as I have really short hair but I thought it looked quite cute in the end.

This is my new Betsey Johnson laptop case my mum brought me back from America when she visited. I spend enough time on my Mac and dragging it around everywhere I go so I guess it deserves to have a cool home haha.

Oh my gosh, my older sister has just brought a puppy tea cup Chihuahua and it literally is the cutest thing alive. I am dog sitting it tomorrow so I may have to do a little photo shoot with it. My camera will be bigger than her. awww.

Atelier-Mayer Xmas Goody Bag

It is a bit late for this post but when I received my bag full of lovely Christmas presents my camera had decided to stop working so here we are, all of my lovely presents including an Atelier-Mayer 'green bag' which I love as its such a great size and will definitely come in handy. It would also make a great beach bag too!

The Atelier-Mayer note pad I loved as I am a bit of a geek for stationary, I like to have everything organised and always have a note pad so this one was extra cute as it has the logo on it.

The next gift was a personal CD from Atelier-Mayer which has a mix of all different songs and genres from house to Jazz, such a great listen.

'L'Amour Fou' is the new DVD on Yves Saint Laurants life and I have not watched it yet but after reading his autobiography book I am really excited to see it. I will be sure to let you all know what it is like, it is supposed to be a great watch and very interesting.

Then lastly was my gold bangle with two gems which is adorable as you can tell. It looks perfect on!

I was so happy with all of my gifts and presents for Christmas, so a big thank you to Carmen!!

Happy New Year!

I must say that New Years eve is always a night that has such high expectations and most of the time never really lives up to them, but when I was ill this week and up until Friday night I really didn't think I would be making it out for New Years eve I was actually really upset, I mean who wants to sit in ill on their own and count down? Anyways I was lucky as on Saturday I woke up feeling a lot better so I was able to make it out for New year, I couldn't drink alcohol as I am on antibiotics and that is a definite no no but I had a fun night!

Merry Belated Christmas

Merry Christmas everybody, yes I know it is a little late and I really have been slacking on the blogging front for the past week or so but I do have an excuse; well a couple. First of all my camera had broken but luckily when I took it into the shop to be repaired instead of taking it in for repair which would mean I would not have a camera for Christmas day they gave me a brand new one! I could not believe my luck. I took full advantage of having my camera back and took lots and lots of photos on Christmas and boxing day, these are just a FEW. Also just after boxing day I came down very ill with tonsillitis, which I still have now but after being bed ridden for three days I have now been able to get the strength to pick up my mac, oh how I have missed it!

Christmas day me and my whole family (minus one of my older sisters and her little family) went to my sister Lacie's for Christmas dinner, it was such a lovely day. My boyfriend Sam joined us later on in the evening and then I went to his house for the night and we opened each others presents which was cute, then on boxing day me, Sam and his family go to the Grove Hotel in the afternoon and then his mum cooks a lovely dinner. It was such a great Christmas and I received lots of lovely gifts and ate sooo much food.

Zandra Rhodes Afternoon Tea

Yesterday me and the Atelier-Mayer team attended Zandra Rhones afternoon tea at the Mandeville Hotel in London. It was devine! We had champagne, peppermint tea, with a choice of amazing sandwiches and delicious cakes. It was lovely. We each received lovely Christmas goody bags full of lots of Atelier-Mayer things and some other cute stuff too but whilst trying to picture it all I lost all of the photographs on my camera!! I am devastated as I have lost lots of University photos of my work and the afternoon tea pictures I took yesterday too. So you will have to make do with some photographs I have found on the internet. Mean while I am trying to fix my camera so I can show you my wonderful goody bag!

Beauts Bag

I am not usually one for a 'hand bag', and I normally just use the same vintage shoulder bag for every day use and for going out also, and then for university I just use a Kath Kitson floral big bag as it is great for fitting my lap top and everything else I need in. However, when I saw somebody with this bag I was instantly attracted to it, it is not the type that I would go for as my typical everyday hand bag; I always go for a vintage and worn looking one. So I asked where it was from, had a little try of it and it just felt perfect! The great thing is that it is quite big meaning I will be able to fit everything I will need in it. I had my heart set on getting it, and my cute boyfriend only went and ordered it for me as a surprise!

As you can imagine, I was a very happy girl!

Indian Inspiration! Chanel Pre Fall 2012!

As soon as I saw Chanels newest collection for Pre Fall 2012 I instantly fell in love with it.

I love the Indian inspired theme, the beautiful Indian Jewels and headpieces, bindis, pearl tweeds, silk trouser leggings that looked like boots, ahh it was my heaven.

As a lover of the Indian Culture and in particular the jewellery and head pieces this was a beautiful sight. It was a mix of Paris and India all in one!

Here is a few pictures of me wearing my bindis, I used to wear them all of the time when I went out, and in everyday life, I think this is reminder to me to start wearing them again.

They are so pretty and add a little something special to an outfit!

My mum returned from her shopping holiday in America this week, along with lots and lots of clothes!

My uncle, my mums brother lives in Minneapolis and so my mum goes to visit for thanksgiving and being a huge shopaholic buys lots and lots from the Mall of America which happens to be right by where my uncle lives. At the moment the clothes are still un organised but here are some pics of all of the shopping bags before they packed it all away to come back to England!

Cat Walk to Cover: A Front Row Seat

This is the exhibition I attended last week, it gives a great insight into the chaotic fashion world and what goes on during the fashion weeks. It shows how there is so much more to fashion than just that fashion show, it looks into the catwalk shows, the clothes, the designers, the celebrities and the street style behind it all.

Here are my photos of the exhibition, apologies for the bad quality of the photos but they were taken on my mobile as I didn't have my camera with me!

Without these amazing Catwalk and back stage photographers we would see nothing!

It is definitely worth going to check out.

Patrick Kelly Paris

Patrick Kelly was a very talented designer from the 80's, he was known for his oversized colourful jewellery and brightly coloured clothes. In the very beginning of his career he sold recycled clothes and worked at Yves Saint Laurant as an intern, before starting his own label Patrick Kelly Paris. I love the over exaggerated jewellery made from buttons and loud prints.

I love how over exaggerated everything was, it was very much an 80's vibe. such a shame he is not still with us designing today.

Anna Bauer- Back Stage

Anna Bauer is a New York-based German photographer, her latest project is a book consisting of all the photos she had taken back stage at all of the fashion weeks;Paris, Milan, London and New York, using a heavy large-format camera and black-and-white Polaroids. The large format camera takes up to two minutes to capture the photo and it takes much stillness and concentration, the end result is something magical. I really love how it is such a simple idea, the subject stands so still, without a pose, in black and white yet it is so effective.

Her Book is out now!

I have not been posting a lot at all recently, even though I did say I would try and take even some rubbish photo's from my mobile to upload of my outfit daily as this would be easier, faster and less time consuming but I have not even had the chance to do this. So, I will now not make any promises as we all know it is not good to break a promise haha. Part of the Reason I have been so awful at posting frequently is as well as having lots of Uni work, working my normal part time job, I also have another new job!

Over the summer I did an internship at Atelier-Mayer which is a vintage company that sell online, have a showroom and now also have a boutique. It was such an amazing experience, the clothes which are all luxury vintage pieces from the 1920's to 1980's consisted of Christian Dior, Hermes, Lanvin, Mary Quant, Osca De La Renta, Chanel and many more. I loved every moment that I worked there and was also lucky to go London Fashion week also to see the Basso and Brookes Spring/Summer 2012, as well as some other really cool events!

Now I have started to work in the brand new Atelier- Mayer Boutique which has recently opened! I will be sure to post some photos of all of the amazing clothes, jewellery and bags.

Yesterday Atelier-Mayer hosted a private event called a Trunk show, this is where we take the entire contents of the show room and the boutique to a house and lay everything out beautifully and then Atelier-Mayer customers come to drink champagne, listen to the piano playing, try, browse and buy all of the wonderful clothes. It was a great event with lots of people attending and most importantly... I got to wear my favourite Lanvin dress!!

I took lots of photos of the event but I do not have my camera back yet but I will be sure to post some photos. For now, here is a couple of pictures of my dress...

My boyfriend was DJing at a club in London on friday night and so I went along, it was a really good night and we organised to stay in a hotel near by in London Bridge as I had work on Saturday morning in London at Atelier-Mayer so it would be easier to get to in the morning. It was nice staying in a hotel and not having to worry about getting taxis home and stuff.

HELLOOOO
I'm back from my weekend in Leeds where I stayed with my Friend Jo who is studying there. I had such a fun time as I always do!
I love Leeds as a city as there is lots to do and so many great Vintage shops too!
The Vintage shops are much cheaper up in the north than down here in London and they also seem to have a lot more stuff. It was heart breaking for me though as I did not really have lots of money to spend but one of the Vintage shops was having a HUGE sale and anything in the shop was £10, bags were £5 and scarfs were £1. I was seriously kicking myself as there was lots of lovely things I wanted to buy.

Microdermal madness

So yesterday me and two of my friends went to the tattoo shop to get some new piercings. I haven't had a new piercing in literally ages and they were on special offer, any piercing for £15. My friend Harriet got a scaffolding which looked really cool and me and Lucy went for micro dermal's!

I did not know what to expect but it didn't hurt at all and although they are a bit random they look SO cute!
I got one on my chest and Lucy got two just under each collar bone.

Mary-Kate Olsen is one of my all time favourite style crushes.
I love how her style is so effortless and cool with her oversized tees and jumpers, skinny ripped jeans, shabby long hair and her clumpy heels or boots.

Usually you would never see me in black but as of late I have really been bringing black into my wardrobe and I'm liking it!

I am a lover of colour splash and could never wear all black and pull it off like Mary Kate does, but then again who could wear a baggy tee shirt, a pair of jeans and barely any makeup with hair unbrushed and look as amazing as her?!

Deconstructing Couture

I attended the Deconstructing Couture Study day yesterday which was held at London College of fashion. It was such a great day, there were lots of speakers and they covered all aspects of Couture fashion such as the life and work of Charles James who was one of the first Couture designers who was also considered to be a genius, to Couture within the theatre, Couture as exhibitions and of course Couture as we know it today. Speakers included Timothy Long, Veronica Issac and Brigitte Stepputtis Head of Couture at Vivienne Westwood. It was such an interesting day!

Brigitte gave an amazing insight into the world of Couture at Vivienne Westwood, speaking in depth about all aspects such as; how the fabrics are sponsored, pricing of Couture garments, examples of fabrics used including close up photos of both the studios and fabrics, the type of clients they attract, pricing, fittings, the amount of endless hours spent on the dresses and how the starting idea is developed into the amazing pieces of work they end up to be. It was truly brilliant to see exactly how these incredible garments are made and the amount of time and effort that is put into making something so beautiful.

A Little bit of Lace

Here is what I was wearing yesterday. It is a black dress from H&M with lace trimming along the bottom, the chest, neck and back. Lots of my favourite silver chunky jewellery including, rings, a long neckless with a black pendant, a silver brooch and silver earrings was how I finished the outfit off. As we leave summer behind and are fast approaching winter, the nights are becoming darker earlier and the temperature is slowly dropping in London. I have whipped out my chunky knit, favourite winter boots and brown lipstick.

So this is my first post, after reading and following my favourite blogs for a long time, I have finally decided to start one of my own. I have been meaning to do this for some time now but I have never actually got round to doing it so here goes...
